More Bags

Made these Lined Drawstring Bags in the snack size.  The one on the right had to be pieced since I cut it wrong the first time and didn't have enough fabric to cut another whole piece.

Essential Wristlet by Dog Under My Desk

A large Essential Wristlet with two zippers. Those flared out corners on the bottom are really bugging me. The inside pocket will fit a passport. Interfaced with Presto for both exterior and lining fabric and used Pellon 988 for the interlining.  Pellon 988 is a sew-in polyester fleece.

Lined Drawstring Bag

Made the Project size bag from In Color Order's Lined Drawstring Bag found here.  The pattern contains 7 different sizes plus a formula to make a custom size.  Used stashed fabric.

There is a free tutorial if you wish to try out the pattern.  Another tutorial for making  striped versions can be found here.  And another tutorial for adding pockets can be found here.

Essential Wristlet

Made some wristlets for presents  from the Essential Wristlet pattern by Dog Under My Desk, except that  the pattern was purchased here, on a sale.

Description:  PDF pattern for wristlets in 2 sizes with a regular bottom (as shown in the pics) or boxed bottom.  There is also an option of adding a zippered pocket to one outer side.

Fabric:  quilting cotton from stash

Interfacing:  fused with Presto (woven cotton fusible) and used sew-in  fleece interfacing for interlining

Notions:  zipper (I used 9" which was shortened), D-ring and swivel hook from Tantalizing Stitches or their etsy shop.

Pattern has detailed step by step instructions with tons of pictures. It has a great method for sewing the zipper, so you don't have "crushed in" corners, and the strap finishing instructions are great. Because I was using quilting scraps, I only made the small size.

Made the inside pocket a bit different on this one:

Idea Pouch : Michelle Patterns

Sewed the Idea Pouch  by Michelle Patterns for my daughter to carry her iPad.

She didn't want as many sections for the inner pocket as the pattern so I only made 2 sections - one for the phone and one for whatever.  Fused Presto to both outer and lining fabric,  and Pellon 987F for the fusible fleece.

The opening to turn the pouch around is placed on the center of the flap, and the end result was not great. That elastic really shows through - will have to cover it with another button or something.

The inside with a Kindle.

Basic Phone Pouch : Michelle Patterns

Made a Michelle Patterns Basic Phone Pouch for my iPod touch.  For the inside, I used a fusible medium weight knit weft interfacing and a non-fusible Pellon soft fleece.  Only the exterior pieces were fused.

Also added a pocket to the back for the earbuds.

Pattern was straight forward and easy to sew.  Next time, I may add a D-ring or tab to the side.
